VAMPIRE FACIAL
A vampire facial, also known as a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) facial, is a cosmetic procedure that uses a patient’s own blood to promote skin rejuvenation and healing.
Procedure
- Blood Draw: A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient, typically from the arm.
- Centrifugation: The blood is placed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which is rich in platelets, from the red and white blood cells.
- Preparation of PRP: The concentrated platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is collected and prepared for application.
- Microneedling: The skin is treated with a microneedling device, creating tiny, controlled micro-injuries to stimulate collagen production.
- PRP Application: The PRP is applied to the treated areas. The microchannels created by the microneedling allow the PRP to penetrate deeper into the skin.
Benefits
- Skin Rejuvenation: Promotes collagen production, improving skin texture, tone, and elasticity.
- Wrinkle Reduction: Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
- Scar Improvement: Helps in the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring.
- Hyperpigmentation: Can improve uneven skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation.
- Overall Radiance: Enhances the overall appearance and radiance of the skin, giving it a more youthful glow.
Aftercare
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from sun exposure and use a broadspectrum sunscreen.
- Gentle Skincare: Use gentle skincare products and avoid harsh treatments or exfoliants for a few days post-procedure.
- Hydration: Keep the skin well-hydrated to support the healing process.
Frequency
- Treatment Schedule: Typically, a series of 3-4 treatments spaced about a month apart is recommended for the best results.
- Maintenance treatments may be needed every 6-12 months.
